The crossword puzzles included in this book are simple and straight
and free form crosswords based on the words found in the historical
expressions. The clues for the crosswords are simple historical
expressions related to the answer words.
-
Since the word and expressions relating to historical aspects might
be lengthy and complex, the crossword puzzles might not be quite
symmetrical. Nevertheless, attempts have been made to optimally fill
the crossword puzzle so that they look reasonably goos besides being
meaningful.
-
To make the process of solving the crossword easier as well as
quicker, some of the letters and/or words of the answers have been
made visible in the puzzle itself. Such prefilled and visible
letters or words are in bold blue colour with a light blue
background.
-
To further simplify the crossword, to avoid boredom while solving
the crossword, the anagrams of the answer words/phrases are given at
the end of certain clues, whenever and wherever deemed necessary.
These anagrams are given within braces {curly brakets} and in
capital letters. In case of phrases compising more than one word,
anagrams for each word are given separateld by commas.
-
You will observe that the given anagrams are expressed in 2
different ways: one in slating capital letters, and the second in
normal capital and underlined letters. Anagrams with slanting
capital letters indicate that the letters of the answer word have
been scrambled. Anagrams with straight capital and underlined
letters indicate that the actual answer words have been reproduced
which can straight away be filled in the puzzles as answers, if not
already made visible in the puzzle.
