In the battle of Karnal on February 13 (some say February 24), 1739, victory of Nadir Shah and capture of Mohammad Shah paved the way for Nadir Shah's march to Delhi. The enormous plunder gained in Delhi caused Nadir Shah to issue an imperial decree removing all taxes in his home country Persia for a total of three years.
