Shankar Jaikishan, the famous Music Composers duo of the 50s, 60s and the 70s, had won Filmfare Best Music Director Awards nine times. They also came out tops in Binaca Geetmala on six occasions (a record later equaled by Laxmikant Pyarelal). In 1959, seven of the top ten songs for the year were composed by this duo, a sort of record that stands perhaps to this date.
