April 06, 1930:   Mahatma Gandhi broke the salt laws on this day at Dandi in Gujarat, after completion of the Dandi march that started on March 12, 1930, that gave rise to large scale acts of civil disobedience against the British Raj salt laws by millions of Indians for the first time.
INDIAN MUTINY OF 1857:    Mangal Pandey was arrested and court-martialled on April 06, 1857.
INDIAN NAVY:   April 06, 2015:   The  INS-Kalvari submarine was undocked on pontoon on this day.
April 06, 2006:   Bharat Suraksha Yatra (focused on left wing terrorism, minority politics, corruption, protection of democracy and price rise), led by Lal Krishna Advani, was started on ths day from Dwarka in Gujarat to Delhi. The second segment of this yatra from Puri in Odisha to Delhi was led by Rajnath Singh.
April 06, 1966:   On this day, Mihir Sen became the first Indian on record to swim across the Palk Straits between Ceylon (Sri Lanka) and Dhanushkodi (India) in 25 hours and 36 minutes.
