Irony of the day  / आज की विडम्बना

In 1961, the Museum of Modern Art in New York City hangs a painting by Henri Matisse, Le Bateau. The painting remained on exhibit as hung for 47 days and was viewed by around 116,000 people. It was then discovered that the painting was upside down. There are many other similar instances too. Experts hung Edward Dickinson’s painting at the US National Academy of Design for a juried exhibition. It won second place despite having been hung upside down.

1961 में न्यूयॉर्क शहर में आधुनिक कला के संग्रहालय में Henri Matisse द्वारा Le Bateau नामक एक चित्रकला लटकाई गयी थी। ये चित्रकला ४७ दिनों तक लटकी रही जिसे लगभग ११६,००० लोगों ने देखा। उसके बाद पता चला के वो तो उल्टी लटकी हुई थी। इतिहास में ऐसी और भी घटनाएँ हुई हैं। इसी प्रकार एडवर्ड दिच्किन्सन द्वारा निर्मित एक चित्रकला को भी उलटा लटकाया गया था और प्रतियोगिता में उसरे दूसरे नंबर पर आंका गया।
