Saint Kabir's Couplet of the day  / आज का संत कबीर का दोहा

न्हाये धोये क्या हुआ, जो मन मैल न जाय। मीन सदा जल में रहै, धोये बास न जाय॥ Transliteration:   Nahaay dhoy kyaa huaa, jo man mail na jaay; meen sadaa jal mein rahai, dhoyebaas na jaay. अर्थ : बार बार नहाने से मन का मैल साफ़ नहीं होता। अर्थात, बाहरी सफाई से ज़यादा महत्वपूर्ण है मानव का चरित्र और उसका स्वभाव। मछली सारी ज़िन्दगी पानी में रहती है, पर 'धुल' नहीं पाती - उसमे बदबू फिर भी आती है। Translation:   The dirt of the mind and heart cannot be cleansed even by taking bath again and again; though the fish spends whole of its life under water, yet it produces bad smell.
