When the elders scold their youngsters, even though for a wrong reason, still they do not deserve to be punished; on the other hand, when the youngsters scold their elders, even though for a right cause, they become liable for punishment. It is so because scoldings by the elders are always a facade concealing their love of the youngsters, whereas the scoldings by the youngsters are the display of their lack of wisdom as well as maturity.
Hindi Translation: जब बड़े छोटों को डांट लगाते हैं, चाहे उसका कारण गलत ही हो, तो भी बड़ों को सज़ा नहीं दी जाती; और जब छोटे बड़ों पर ऊंचे स्वर में भी बोलते हैं, भले उसका कारण सही ही हो, तो भी वे सज़ा के पात्र बन जाते हैं। ऐसा इसलिये होता है, क्यूंकि (i) बड़ों की डांट के पिछवाड़े में उनका छोटों के प्रति प्यार छुपा होता है और (ii) छोटों का बड़ों पर बरसना उनकी मूर्खता व अपरिपक्वता का प्रतीक होता है।
