April 19, 1950: He
resigned after the Delhi Pact was signed
totally ignoring his views on the issue.
So, he became the first Indian Cabinet
Minister to resign from Union Cabinet in
the history of free India.He was firmly
opposed to Nehru's invitation to the
Pakistani PM, and their joint pact to
establish minority commissions and
guarantee minority rights in both
countries. He had differences with Nehru
over the plight of Hindus in East
Pakistan. |
