INDIA - JUSTICE ALLAHABAD HIGH COURT December 08, 2016:   TRIPLE TALAQ - The court said that the practice of divorcing a woman by uttering 'Talaq' thrice is unconstitutional. It further said that the triple talaq practice – sanctioned under Muslim personal law that governs marriage, property and divorce – violated the rights of Muslim women. In a landmark statement, the Allahabad HC said, “No Personal Law Board is above the Constitution."
