INDIA - NATIONAL FLAG TIRANGA - TRICOLOUR December 30, 1943 - On this day, Subhas Chandra Bose raised the flag of Indian independence (Tiranga) at Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, about 2500 km from the Capital of India. This was the first ever occasion to hoist the TIRANGA during the British Rule by an Indian leader declaring the independence of India.
