MAHATMA GANDHI December 31, 1929:   On this day, he led the Congress members in Lahore to take vow for SWARAJ, i.e. full independence. Jawaharlal Nehru hoisted the tricolour on the banks of Ravi river in Lahore as a mark for the demand for the poorna swaraj.
