AURANGZEB September 07, 1695 - A heavily armed trading ship, named Ganj-i-Sawai, belonging to the Aurangzeb was captured, along with its escort the Fateh Muhammed, on this day by the English pirate Henry Every. The loot from the Ganj-i-Sawai totalled estimated £600,000. Emperor Aurangzeb threatened to end all English trading in India.
