INDO-PAK WAR of 1965
September 10, 1965:   Munabao fell into Pakistani hands, and efforts to capture the strategic point did not succeed. The Pakistani 1st Armoured Division never made it past Khem Karan, however, and by the end of 10 September pak defence lay disintegrated by the defences of the Indian 4th Mountain Division at what is now known as the Battle of Asal Uttar. The area became known as 'Patton Nagar' (Patton Town), because of the large number of US-made Pakistani Patton tanks were destroyed there. Approximately 97 Pakistani tanks were destroyed or abandoned, with only 32 Indian tanks destroyed or damaged.
