LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI September 22, 1965:   The invading Indian forces outfought their Pakistani counterparts and by the time United Nations intervened on September 22, Pakistan had suffered a clear defeat. On this day, the United Nations Security Council unanimously passed a resolution that called for an unconditional ceasefire from both nations. The war ended the following day.
