AIFB is a left-wing nationalist political party in India
following an pursuing socialist, anti-imperialist and
Marxist ideologies.
The party re-established as an independent political
party after the independence of India.
It has its main stronghold in West Bengal.
Veteran Indian politicians Sarat Chandra Bose
(brother of Subhas Chandra Bose) and Chitta Basu had been
the stalwarts of the party in independent India.

Feb 24, 1971:
An emergency central
committee meeting was held on 2this day, which appointed P.K.
Mookiah Thevar as the new chairman of the party.
Feb 20, 1971:
The AIFB chairman Hemantha
Kumar Bose was murdered in Calcutta.
Dec 1947:
By this time the AIFB
suffered a split and now there were two forward blocs.
Thereafter the party started losing ground and suffering further
splits.
Jan 12-14, 1947:
Its 2nd All India
Conference was convened in Arrah, Bihar.
Jun 10, 1946:
After its post-war
reorganisation and after lifting of its ban, the working
committee of the Forward Bloc met on this day.
Aug, 1942:
British authorities banned
the Forward Bloc. Its offices around the country were ransacked.
Jan 1941:
He escaped from house
arrest, and went into exile. He went to the Soviet Union to seek
Soviet support for the Indian independence struggle. After the
denial of such support by Stalin of Soviet Union, he then went
to Germany, where (in Berlin) he set up the Free India Centre,
and rallied the Indian Legion.

Subhash Chandra Bose was
arrested on this day and detained in the Presidency Jain in
Calcutta.

AIFB held its first All India Conference in Nagpur.

The Forward Bloc of the
Indian National Congress was formed on this day by Netaji
Subhash Chandra Bose.

After having resigned (on
account of conflict with Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi) on this day
from the presidency of the Indian National Congress, Netaji
Sibhash Chandra Bose announced the formation of the
Forward Bloc.
