May 03, 1919: He led a surprise attack against the British in India on
this day, beginning the third
Anglo-Afghan war.
January 14, 1929: Popular uprising by Habibullah Kalakani
made things rather difficult for Amanollah Khan, who on
this day, abdicated and fled to
neighbouring India while Afghanistan fell into a
civil war.
1960: From India he went to
Europe where he died in Zürich, Switzerland.
