Other Events & Developments	He was popularly known as UNCLE Pai. The Amar Chitra Katha series became a publishing milestone, selling over 86 MILLION copies of about 440 titles. In 1969, he founded Rang Rekha Features, India's first COMIC AND CARTOON syndicate. Tinkle series was a children's ANTHOLOGY of short stories, jokes and educational articles in comic-book format. In 1989, he launched CHIMPU Comics, which included his own works like Ramu and Shamu, Kapish, Little Raji and Fact Fantasy. In 2000, he sold out his business to a Hyderabad-based ANIMATION STUDIO named Colour Chips. He also founded the PARTHA Institute of Personality Development in August 1978, which conducted personality development classes through CORRESPONDENCE for children and teenagers. His long list of awards and accolades included Lifetime Achievement Award – at the First INDIAN COMIC Convention, New Delhi which was given in 2011 by Pran, Creator of Chacha CHAUDHURY.
