interview to Times Now, he expressed his deep regret and
anguish in unequivocal terms over the developments taking
place in Aam Aadmi Party led by Arvind Kejriwal.

said, "I am pained by the Shunglu committee report because
Arvind was with me in the fight against corruption. I had
great hopes from the young and educated Kejriwal and felt
that young people like him will create a corruption-free
nation. But he has dashed all my hopes."

He led movements to promote rural development,
increase government transparency, and
investigate and punish corrupt in public
life.
In addition to organising and encouraging grassroots
movements, he frequently conducted hunger strikes
to further his causes.
He also contributed to the development and structuring
of Ralegan Siddhi, a village in Parner
taluka of Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra, India. He was
awarded the Padma Bhushan by the Government
of India in 1992 for his efforts in establishing this
village as a model for others.
When his efforts were at the verge of yielding positive
results, some of his closest colleagues ditched him and
entered politics; since then he seems to have lost
that old sheen and charishma.
So, it can be said that in his struggle to clean up the
bad politics, he has only succeeded in nurturing and
introducing a few more politicians in the existing
system.
