Special Achievements / Events He formed his film production company Vittal Productions. He produced and directed his first film Rajya Lakshmi. In 1954, he produced and directed Kanya Daana, a revolutionary film of that time. After making a few Kannada movies, he concentrated in producing and directing only Telugu and Tamil movies. He directed movies for other producers also. He directed a total of 19 movies of N. T. Rama Rao, then the leading hero of Andhra Pradesh. Many of his films were box office successes.  He was fondly called by his fans as "Jaanapada Brahma".
