- December 11, 1858: He and
Jadu Nath Bose became the first two Indians to be conferred
the Bachelor of Arts degree from Calcutta University.
- 1859: He was appointed as
Deputy Collector
soon after he passed his graduation
examination.
- 1865: His first Bengali romance,
Durgeshnandini, was
published in 1865.
- 1891: He continued to work in
government service till 1891 when he
got retired.
