Description |
- Christmas is the Christian celebration of the birth of
Jesus Christ, who is considered the Son of God, and the
saviour of all humanity.
- Christianity essentially began with the birth of Jesus.
- Some of the images inexorably tied with this
celebration are things like shepherds in the snow, and the
fierce cold of a winter night when Jesus was born.
- All said and done, the holiday has been corrupted by the
commercialism which it has come to be associated with.
- As the influence of the Catholic Church expanded
following the fall of Rome, Christmas took on new
traditions.
- Quite interestingly, this religious occasion is
celebrated with full vigour, pomp and show by the people
belonging to almost all religions, thereby making this
festival as UNIQUE one in this world.
-
The holiday
has become a significant event and a key sales period for
retailers and businesses all over the world.
