- Prior to making her cinematic debut, she worked as a
model and television presenter, and acted in plays while
attending college.
- She rose to prominence by playing the leading lady in
the 2008 British drama film Slumdog Millionaire, a film that
marked her debut.

"Breakthrough Performance Award" at the Palm Springs
International Film Festival and Screen Actors Guild Award
