- 1991: He was elected to the
10th Lok Sabha lower house parliament under the Telugu Desam
Party (TDP) ticket.
- March 24, 1998: He
became the 12th Speaker of the Indian Lok Sabha.
- October 22. 1999: He was
re-elected as Speaker in the 13th Lok Sabha.
- March 03, 2002: Upon his
death, he ceased to be the 12th Speaker of the Indian Lok
Sabha. He died in crash of a Bell 206 helicopter in
Kaikalur, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh.
