- July 23, 1985 - He met the Prime
Minister in Delhi and on this day and signed an eleven-point
memorandum covering all the major issues which had defied
resolution since the Akalis had first presented their list
of demands.
- August 20, 1985 - Less than a month
after signing the Punjab accord, he was shot and killed on
this day at the gurdwara in village Sherpur, not far from
Longowal, Punjab.
