Description |
- The Siege of Cawnpore was a key episode in the Indian
rebellion of 1857.
- This was one of the most notorious events of the
Indian mutiny in 1857 when several ladies and children were
massacred and thrown into a well in Bibigarh at
Kanpur.
- It is a story of Surrender and killing of the
besieged East India Company forces, followed by recapture of
Cawnpore and violent reprisals by the East India Company
forces.
