- During the recording of some songs for his new film
'Barsaat', Raj Kapoor had some serious differences with Ram
Ganguly, the music composer of the film and finally decided
to assign its music to Shankar-Jasikishan Duo. The result
was that the the film Barsaat was a super hit and the
success was largely attributed to itsvery popular music.
- S-J formed a core team with lyricists Shailendra and
Hasrat Jaipuri and with singers Mohammed Rafi and Lata
Mangeshkar.
- Apart from relying upon their knowledge of Indian
classical music, S-J also employed western beats and
orchestration.
