- He was a prolific contributor to a number of literary
journals.
- Beginning with editing of cultural journal Manasi during
1909-13, he was the joint editor of cultural journal Jamuna
during 1921-22.
- He would later become the owner and editor of the
journal Purvachal between 1947 and 1948.
- He is considered a major voice of the post-Rabindranath
period in Bengali poetry.
- His poetry conveyed the intricacies of life in rural
Bengal, in all its joys and sorrows.
