- 2015: She moved the Madras
High Court after her application for the post was rejected
because of being a
transgender.
- November 06, 2015: The
court gave directions to the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services
Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) to appoint her as a sub-inspector
of police as she is entitled to get the job and also to
include
transgender people as a "third category", apart from
the usual category of "male" and "female".
- April 04, 2017: She joined
the Tamil Nadu police force after completing her one-year
training, thereby becoming the first
transgender person to
become a police officer in India.
