- He is Senior Vice-President and Chief Economist of the
World Bank.
- He is on leave from Cornell University where he is the
C. Marks Professor of International Studies and Professor of
Economics.
- Prior to that he was the Chairman of the Department of
Economics and director, Center for Analytic Economics at
Cornell University.
- Till July 2012 he served as the Chief Economic
Adviser to the Government of India.
- He is also the Jury Chair for the Infosys Prize 2013 for
the discipline of Social Sciences.
