- In her ancestral village of
Keri, Goa, the Surashree Kesarbai
Kerkar High School is situated in
her former house.
- A music festival called the
Surashree Kesarbai Kerkar
Smriti Sangeet Samaroha is
held in Goa each November.
- A music scholarship in
her name is awarded
annually to a University of Mumbai
student.
- Since 2000, several CDs of her
archival recordings have been
released.
- Her song ‘Jaat Kahan Ho’
based on raga Bhairavi, was included
on the Voyager Golden Record,
which was sent to space aboard
Voyager 1 and 2 space craft in 1977.
- Voyager Golden Records
contain sounds and images selected
to portray the diversity of life and
culture on Earth, and are intended
for any intelligent extraterrestrial
life form, or for future humans, who
may find them.
