- May 05, 1260: Start of his
reign and Coronation. In order to retain his crown, he had
to defeat his younger brother Ariq Boke in the Toluid Civil
War lasting until 1264.
- 1271: He established the
Yuan dynasty, which ruled over present-day Mongolia, China,
Korea, and some adjacent areas, and assumed the role of
Emperor of China.
- 1279: He became the first
non-Han Emperor to conquer all of China.
- February 18, 1294: End of
his reign (upon his death).
