- May 24, 1881: He was made a
Companion of the Most Eminent Order of the Indian Empire
(CIE) on this day, keeping in view the esteem he enjoyed
from the Indian scholars by being addressed with the title
of Nyayratna.
- February 16, 1887: The
title of Mahamahopadhyay was conferred upon him on this day
on the occasion of the Jubilee of the reign of Queen
Victoria, for eminence in oriental learning. It entitled him
to take rank in the Durbar immediately after titular Rajas.
