over as Nizam of Hyderabad.
- September 18, 1911: He was
coronated as Nizam on this day.
- January 24, 1918: In a
letter of this date, the title Faithful Ally of the British
Government was conferred on him by King George V.
- February 22, 1937: He was
portrayed on the cover of TIME magazine on this day,
described as the world's richest man.
- September 17, 1948: On this
day, Hyderabad was annexed by the Government of India and he
attained the status of a Titular Nizam of Hyderabad.
- January 26, 1950: He was
made the Rajpramukh of Hyderabad State.
- October 31, 1956: He
continued as Rajpramukh of Hyderabad state until this day,
after which the state was partitioned on linguistic basis
and became part of Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

- He was styled His Exalted Highness The Nizam of
Hyderabad.
- During his days as Nizam, he was reputed to be the
richest man in the world, having a fortune estimated at US$2
billion in the early 1940s or 2 per cent of the US economy
then. At that time the treasury of the newly independent
Union government of India reported annual revenue of US$1
billion only.
- He built the Hyderabad House in Delhi, now used for
diplomatic meetings by the Government of India.
