(divine reformer) of the fourteenth Islamic century, the
Promised Messiah (Second Coming of Christ),
and the Mahdi awaited by the Muslims in the
end days.
- He preached his religious ideas and ideals all across
the Indian sub-continent and won substantial
following.
- He founded the Ahmadiyya Movement in
Islam in March 1889.
- The mission of the movement was the propagation
of Islam in its pristine form.
- He emphatically opposed and argued against the necessity
of Jihad in violent form in the present
age.
- The adherents of the Ahmadiyya movement are referred to
as Ahmadis or Ahmadi Muslims.
- Ahmadi thought emphasizes the belief that Islam
is the final dispensation for humanity as revealed
to Muhammad.
- He therefore emphasized the necessity of restoring Islam
to its true essence and pristine form, which had been lost
through the centuries.
- Ahmadis therefore consider as their mission to bring
about the revival and peaceful propagation
of Islam.
- The Ahmadis were among the earliest Muslim
communities to arrive in Britain and other Western
countries.
- Ahmadis also believe that Ahmad was sent by God
just like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed
and reinstitute morality, justice and peace.
