and "Crusaders"; the latter term is commonly interpreted to
refer to the people of Europe and the United States.

He was the world's most wanted terrorist who
masterminded 9/11 attacks on the world trade centre
in New York in 2001.
He became untraceable thereafter.
- May 02, 2011: He, the founder and head of the Islamist militant group
al-Qaeda, was killed in Pakistani
hide-out
on this day by U.S. Navy SEALs of the U.S.
Naval Special Warfare Development Group (also known as DEVGRU or
SEAL Team Six).
The operation, code-named Operation Neptune Spear, was carried out
in a Central Intelligence Agency-led operation.
The raid on bin Laden's compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan,
was launched from Afghanistan.
After the raid, U.S. forces took bin Laden's body to Afghanistan for
identification, then buried it at sea within 24 hours of his death,
in accordance with Islamic tradition.
