- 2013: In a home Test series
against Australia in 2013, he took 29 wickets, the most by
any Indian bowler in a four-match Test series. The same
year, he took his 100th Test wicket in his 18th match,
becoming the fastest Indian bowler to the milestone and the
fastest in the world in over 80 years.

Arjuna Award.

fastest Indian to 150 wickets
- September 25, 2016: He, aged 30,
today surpassed legends Waqar Younis and Dennis Lillee
to become the second fastest bowler to claim 200
Test wickets. He achieved this milestone in
his 37th Test match, bettering Waqar and Lillee, who both
took 38 Tests. The No.1 spot is held by former Australia
leg-spinner Clarrie Grimmett, who took just 36 Tests to get
to the 200th wicket mark.
- December 22, 2016:
Ravichandran Ashwin has become only the third Indian player
ever to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy after being named
the ICC Cricketer of the Year besides the ICC Test Cricketer
of the Year. The other two Indians who won the Award
earlier were Rahul Dravid in 2004 and Sachin Tendulkar in
2010. Overall, the off-spinner from Chennai is the 12th
player to win the prestigious Trophy. Ashwin was also
adjudged the ICC Test Cricketer of the Year. This has made
him only the second India player after Dravid to bag the two
coveted prizes in the same year.
