- May 18, 2007: MECCA MASJID BOMB
BLAST
- Mecca Masjid is a 400 year old mosque in
Hyderabad, India, close to the famous Charminar. A
bomb blast took place in its premies on this day
during the Friday prayers in the afternoon leaving
around 13 killed and several injured.
- August 25, 2007: Hyderabad
Explosions:
- At least 35 people were feared dead and nearly
60 injured after two explosions, barely minutes and
five km of each other, ripped through an amusement
park and a popular eat-out Hyderabad, India, this
evening.
- February 21, 2013: Dilsukhnagar
Blasts:
- The twin blasts in Dilsukhnagar area in
Hyderabad on this day, claimed 18 lives and injured
over 130 people. The blasts occurred within a
distance of 100 metres at crowded places in
Dilsukhnagar on the evening of this day.
- The NIA, which probed the case, concluded that
the blasts were engineered by the IM operatives. Out
of the six accused in the case, the investigating
agency arrested five. Main accused Riyaz Bhatkal,
alias Shah Riyaz Ahmad Mohammed Ismail Shahbandari,
is absconding.
- December 19, 2016:
- Indian Mujahideen co-founder Yasin
Bhatkal, a Pakistani national and three others
were given death penalty by an NIA
court in the 2013 Hyderabad twin blasts case.
Apart from Bhatkal, the other convicts are:
Asadullah Akhtar alias Haddi, Tahseen Akhtar
alias Monu, Pakistani national Zia ur Rehman
alias Waqas and Ajaz Shaikh.
