- December 02, 1985 - Dr Hinduja started
experiments in IVF in 1984 on animals at KEM Hospital in
Pare. Her team successfully transferred an embryo prepared
in a petri-dish into Harsha’s mother’s womb, the first time
in India where such an attempt was made.
- August 06, 1986 - On this day, the
first test tube baby of India, named HARSHA,
was born to Shyamji and Mani Chavda. This
was made possible by the research efforts of Dr.
Indira Hinduja of King Edward Memorial Hospital, Bombay.
- March 07, 2016 - On this day, Dr Indira
Hinduja and Dr Kusum Zaveri assisted that very test tube
baby, Harsha, now a 29-year-old Harsha Shah,
to give birth to a son. The operation was successful.
