- He founded over 300 yoga centres around the world and
wrote over 100 books in Tamil and English many of which
became academic textbooks.
- Born in a very poor weaver's family, he established a
textile concern that grew to employ over 2,000 workers on a
profit-sharing basis.
- He wrote over 3000 poems on philosophical subjects. His
philosophy corresponds to pure advaita.
- His lifetime works are called Vethathiriyam,
which literally translates as a roadmap to the mountain of
knowledge.
- 1958 - He founded the World Community
Service Center (WCSC) in 1958 in Chennai,
and was its trustee.
- 1984 - He founded the "Vethathiri
Maharishi Yoga and Kaya Kalpa Research Foundation" based in
Aliyar, Pollachi, Tamil Nadu in the name of Arutperunjothi
Nagar.This
- 1998 - the Brain Trust was established
to bring together intellectuals of various fields to discuss
the issues facing mankind and work towards solutions for
bringing about peace and harmony to the individual and to
the world at large.
- February 02, 2016 - The WCSC President
met the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, at
Coimbatore and submitted an applicationproposal for the
setting up of a new university - Vethathiri Institute of
Yoga and Spiritual Education.

- Many of his books are being
translated into Hindi and other
Indian languages.
- He was declared the 19th Siddha
by the Dravidian University. A
Siddha refers to a being who has
achieved a high degree of physical
as well as spiritual perfection or
enlightenment.
- At the age of fifty, he closed
all his commercial activities and
devoted himself solely to spiritual
service.
- At the age of 72, he adopted an
American national, Ms. Keith
Fitzcharles, later renamed as
Arulnidhi Uma Vethathiri, as his
legal heir.
- He had always been engaged in
finding answers for the following
questions:
- What is God?
- What is life?
- Why is poverty in the world?
- According to him, a deep
understanding of nature is essential
for good and balanced living.
- He claimed to synthesize a
complete science of living for the
betterment of humanity through:
- Simplified Kundalini Yoga
meditation,
- Physical Exercises,
- Kaya Kalpa Yoga and
- Introspections.
