Test debut (vs. South Africa) and scored his first

six off the very first ball of India’s innings
against Australia at SCG in the second final of VB series.

- December 08, 2011 - He hit his maiden
double century in ODI cricket, against West Indies, becoming
the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to reach the
landmark. He also became the only player to score a
double century as captain in ODIs.

- His score remains the
highest individual score in ODI
cricket - 219 off 149 balls.
- He is the only player in world
to score a double hundred in
ODI and a triple hundred in Test
Cricket.
- The only Indian to score a
triple century in Test
matches.
- The first batsman to
reach a score of 300 with a six.

- Sehwag completed his 1,000th IPL
run in just 604 balls and scored his
2,000th IPL run in 1,211 balls. Both
these are respective records
for least number of balls played to
score 1,000 and 2,000 runs
in IPL.
