World Heritage Day, celebrated on April 18, every year, is a
reminder of the beautiful places or heritage sites in a country.

The places or sites that come under the World Heritage sites are of
special cultural or physical significance, as listed by UNESCO.

A World Heritage Site is a landmark which has been officially
recognized by the United Nations, specifically by UNESCO. Sites are
selected on the basis of having cultural, historical, scientific or
some other form of significance, and they are legally protected by
international treaties.

The aim is to promote awareness about the diversity of cultural
heritage of humanity, their vulnerability and the efforts required
for their protection and conservation. 18 April is celebrated all
over the world by a wide range of organisations.

protecting and nurturing the ancient places like temples, building,
city, lakes, mountains, monuments and many more.
