- She acted with Indian People's
Theatre Association (IPTA)
and Prithviraj Kapoor's
Prithvi Theatre for
fourteen years.
- The Grand Old Lady of
Indian theatre and films,
was older than Indian cinema at the
age of 102 with a glorious
performing career behind her that
inspired generations.
- She began her career as
a dancer with Uday Shankar
in 1935 and performed across Japan,
Egypt, Europe and the US.
- She married with a
scientist, painter and dancer
Kameshwar Sehgal in August 1942.
- After her husband's death in
1959, Zohra first moved to Delhi and
became director of the newly founded
Natya Academy.
- During her visit to London, she
got her first break in the
films and was signed by
Merchant Ivory Productions followed
by others.
- After her return to India in the
mid-1990s she took up the
poetry it in big way.
