14.  Children- Promises of Tomorrow

Children are the future of our nation,

Childrens’ Day celebration isn’t just a fashion.

Let us not deny our children the opportunity

To develop into a good Community.

On the way children now learn

Depends the way they in future earn.

Good luck is not the way to success;

Effort is the only way to success.

As for children there is a limit to our desires

We cannot fashion them as we aspire.

We must grow them and love them as God desires-

This is what the wise will admire.

Children are living jewels dropped from heaven;

They have to be polished and returned to heaven.

It is the parents’ duty to safeguard them from evil

And to protect them from all kinds of peril.

When children are too much pampered

Their growth is very much hampered.

They have to grow in body and soul,

Otherwise the growth is faulty on the whole.

Teachers should help students not to be demoralised,

They should see in them moral values crystallized

This can be done by setting good example

And seeing that they follow such example.

Students ask from teachers not any charity

But for their teachings some clarity.

Teachers are responsible for students’ advancement

Which indeed is their own achievement.

When teachers are over-indulgent,

The pupils become too negligent,

When the former do their duties well

They can over the latter cast a spell.

If the weak are to become strong,

And the strong are to remain strong,

The former have to be nourished,

And the latter have to be sustained.
