No wall can be stronger than its defenders;
With a weak defence up will come the offenders.
This is nothing but worldly wisdom;
Without it no king can hold his kingdom.
People will judge you by your actions
And not by your good intensions.
The way to hell is paved with many a good intension,
Who on earth will seek such a destination?
Woe unto those who curse
Every wound that they should rather nurse.
Patient suffering is a virtue
That would make no wound any issue.
A tussle for leadership is everywhere
Which may lead the parties nowhere;
When the contenders are mutually berated,
The competition will remain unabated
To forget and forgive is indeed a virtue;
The greater the suffering the greater is the virtue.
To be preached how easy it is!
To be practised how difficult it is!
When afraid you are of facing enmity,
Blamed you are for pussilanimity
Courage you must have to face opposition
When convinced you are of your position.
A hurricane causes wide-spread destruction
As people cannot give it an obstruction.
It takes hundreds of lives away.
The Almighty alone can control its sway.
Where hurricane is a horror,
Looting is equally a terror.
How can man be so devilish
If he is not too selfish?
What do we count in a battle field deserted,
If not the dead, the half-dead and the wounded?
What can gladden the heart of the winner?
The innocent will consider him the worst sinner.
Persons living in glasshouses shouldn’t pelt stones,
For they will be pelted back with the same stones.
What is more, the glass-panes will be shattered
And with the splintered glass their bodies will be battered.
India has two faces, one being cruel, violent and intolerant,
The other being calm, magnanimous and tolerant.
We want to see the second face in its full glory,
Otherwise the fate of India will be a different story.
A man is not to be judged by his birth;
He should be judged by his worth.
He may earn by birth a title
The value of which is too little.
