Fight Against Terror
Right from Kanya Kumari to Kashmir and
Gujarat to Arunachal Pradesh, India is one and the unique feature of its unity
in diversity finds its manifestation in so many forms and manners and on so many
occasions. And it is also equally pertinent to say that terrorists’ attack on
Mumbai has disturbed every Indian and he is really very concerned to find a long
lasting solution to this ugly menace, certainly more than our politicians. It
has been proved time and again that these politicians
have become quite insensitive and undisturbed about the plight of common people.
Then why should we spend so much on them and their families. Hence, I would
opine that only President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Speaker of Lok Sabha
and Chief Justice of India, should be provided big security. Rest of all
ministers, CMs and Governors of various states should be better divested of
their costly security; as it pinches the common tax-payers; because they feel
that their hard earned money is going down the drain. Withdrawal of security of
thousands of such other politicians will spare huge funds running into thousands
of crores, which can be utilised for other more important projects.
2.
Secondly, our Police / ATS / BSF and NSG personnel who really work hard
in protecting ordinary citizens, should be equipped with the latest arms and
ammunition to demolish the nefarious and sinister designs of the perpetrators of
terrorism. Officers in intelligence agencies, who commit serious lapses in
acting fast on security related / sensitive matters, should be suitably
punished. Thirdly, if the Govt. still feels the shortage of funds to purchase
latest genre of arms and ammunition, it should levy a charge in name of National
Security Fund (NSF) on all well off citizens. Hence, it is proposed that people
earning a monthly salary between 20 to 35K, should be asked to contribute 2% of
their Basic Pay towards NSF, 35 to 50 K – 3% and above 50 K – 4% towards this
noble national cause, as the life of every citizen is very precious. People in
their own business / shop-keepers and big industrialists should also contribute
generously, as war on terrorism has just become indispensable. Contribution
towards this fund should continue for a period of six months, and it should be
exempted from income tax. But, one thing that our Govt. must ensure – is that
the sooner we take pre-emptive military action to vacate PoK and annexe / merge
it into our territory, the better it would be for whole of the country; as our
villainous neighbour runs so many terrorist training camps there, who ultimately
spread their venom on our innocent citizens.
3.
Pakistan is not only imparting training to the terrorists on its soil and
in PoK, but also supplies fake currency to fund spreading terrorist activities
across the length and breadth of India. On the top of it, it has always been
denying the proofs submitted by India in support of nationality of terrorists
and thereby blocking the passage of their extradition to India, for conducting
trials and ultimately bringing them to justice. We urgently need to crush the
hood of this snake and also punish the people who shelter them. We must settle
this issue once for all and give sound and clear message to the international
community that INDIA is not going to tolerate any such nuisance and the
perpetrators of such heinous / sinister designs shall be dealt with sternly.
There is also simply no need to keep them in jails for years together and feed.
After all, how can we forget the
lesson when such criminals had even hijacked IC 814 Air India’s aeroplane in the
last week of December, 2001, and taken it to Kandhar and ultimately, India had
to release five most hardcore terrorists (belonging to the same neighbouring
country) for securing the release of innocent passengers.
Expeditious trials should be conducted and once the
crime has been established, terrorist should be hanged to death at a public
place, so that it serves as a deterrent to such other malicious and perverted
minds.
4.
And lastly and perhaps more importantly, MPs and MLAs who do not perform well
for the welfare of the people / their constituencies, should be barred from
contesting next election for a period of ten years.
