WALCHAND HIRACHAND DOSHI April 05, 1919:   Walchand and Narottam Morarjee acquired the ship S.S. Loyalty from Maharaja Madhavrao Scindia of Gwalior. The Scindia Steam Navigation Company Limited (SSNCL) was formed, with an investment of Rs.45 crores, in Bombay on this day, which is celebrated as the National Maritime Day. But their idea of setting up a shipyard took a long time.
