INDIA - FREEDOM STRUGGLE DANDI MARCH (Salt Satyagraha) April 06, 1930:   The salt march was scheduled to reach Dandi in Gujarat on this day. Thousands of men, women and children accompanied the marching column for a few miles and thousands lined the route and showered flowers, coins, currency notes and scented water at the satyagrahis. When Mahatma Gandhi broke the salt laws on this day at Dandi, it gave rise to large scale acts of civil disobedience against the British Raj salt laws by millions of Indians for the first time.
