- November 08, 2011: The Supreme
Court condemned Agnivesh for hurting the sentiments of Hindu
People by commenting on Amarnath Pilgrimage.
- March 25, 1970: In 1968, he went
to Haryana to join the Arya Samaj and on this day, he took
the sanyas vows.
- August 2008: He was expelled
from the organisation in August 2008, after majority of Arya
Samaj Pratinidhi Sabhas in India expressed opposition to
him.
- April 24, 2017: At the
debate at Newshour , Times Now, on this day, on the killing
of 26 CRPF jawans by Maoist Naxal terrorists, Shri Agnivesh
proposed, albeit strangely enough for many other panelists,
that the government should have a dialogue with the killers.
Sambit Patra, spokesman for the BJP party, however rejected
his proposal which amounted to surrender by the government
before terrorists.

- He is best known for his work against bonded labour
through the Bonded Labour Liberation Front, which he founded
in 1981.
- Agnivesh also founded and became president of the World
Council of Arya Samaj, which he describes as an associate of
the original Arya Samaj, and served as the chairperson of
the United Nations Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary
Forms of Slavery from 1994 to 2004.
