Clay Mouldings

Conversion of plastic clay into different shapes and artifacts has been one of the most fascinating arts for the young ones. Presumably it is one of the oldest forms of art the human beings have been pursuing. Even when there was no paper, pencil and the like, the human race had always access to the clays, the gift of nature.

The most common and basic moulding clay is made from the earthen clay mixed with water and oil to make it easily mouldable dough. Certain other substances like fluor, salt, oil, etc. are also sometimes added to meet the desired specifications of the moulded artifact. Once the clay has been moulded to the desired shape, the artifact is dried either in the free air or in kiln depending upon the end-use of the artifact. Many other commercial versions of moulding clays are also available in the market.

Our aim here is not to teach you how to make doughs and mouldings but just to apprise you of yet another great hobby for your youngsters to adopt at an early stage of their life. With this aim in view we shall be contacting the various young enthusiasts of this hobby and try to display their creations:
