INDIA - POLITICS ALL INDIA FORWARD BLOC (AIFB) April 29, 1939:   Subhas Chandra Bose had resigned from the presidency of the Indian National Congress on this day after being outmaneuvered by Mohandas K. Gandhi. The formation of the Forward Bloc by him was announced to the public at a rally in Calcutta.
